Please read carefully, all about information you need to know to help you prepare your trip better.
Mount Rinjani Trekking Quota: Why Early Booking is Essential Mount Rinjani is one of the most iconic trekking destinations in the world. To protect the mountain’s natural beauty and ensure a safe experience, the National Park limits the number of climbers each day. This system is called the trekking quota, and it’s divided into two categories:
For international travelers, there are 240 quota slots each day. These slots are managed by trekking organizers like GREEN RINJANI to ensure proper permits, guides, and safety arrangements. Because demand is high — especially during peak season (July–September) — these slots fill up fast.
Booking early (1–2 months in advance) guarantees your spot, saves last-minute stress, and allows you to secure your preferred trekking date and route.
Local / Public Quota — 160 slots per day For Indonesian citizens or domestic trekkers, 160 slots are available daily. These are reserved for climbers registering independently at the Rinjani Trekking Centre in Senaru or Sembalun. Local quotas tend to fill quickly during busy periods, so early planning is still highly recommended.
Why This Matters for You Without a secured quota slot, trekking Mount Rinjani is not allowed. This is why early booking is essential — especially for foreign visitors who depend on agency-arranged quotas.
