Embark on an unforgettable 3-day trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani, one of Indonesia’s most iconic volcanoes. This challenging trek, starting from the eastern entrance in Sembalun and finishing at Senaru village, is perfect for those who are fit, adventurous, and looking for a more demanding hiking experience. While it offers some of the most breathtaking views in Lombok, it requires a good level of physical fitness and experience in trekking.

Important Notes:

  • Not for Beginners: This program is not suitable for beginner trekkers. It requires a good level of fitness, stamina, and previous trekking experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Strong walking skills and good physical fitness are essential. People with a fear of heights or prone to mountain sickness are not recommended to join.
  • Booking in Advance: There is a limit of 240 trekkers allowed per day on Mount Rinjani. We highly recommend booking in advance.
  • Health Certificate: A health certificate issued within 24 hours is required. Contact us for assistance in obtaining it.

Available activities before and after trekking:

There are lots day activities you can do in Lombok island before join our trekking. Type of day activities we recommend to you is water activities with short duration than make your sleep well after activities.

Two kind of day activities we suggest to you ( with addtional price ) learn how to surf and river tubing, and best activities to do after trekking is relaxing activities such as snorkeling trips to Gili island, Spa / Massage, Join Komodo tours and much more.

Our trips is include free pick up from airport Lombok, than transfer to Senggigi or Senaru you can meet with your trekking guide and porters, then we will explain the trekking procedure and prepare for your trips

Mount Rinjani Climate:

  • Daytime Temperature: 28–35˚C
  • Nighttime Temperature: Campsites at Sembalun (8-10˚C), Senaru Crater Rim (8-10˚C), Segara Anak Lake (10-15˚C)
  • Summit Temperature: 0–5˚C

Recommended Clothing:

  • Daytime: Light clothing (short or long pants, T-shirt, hat)
  • Nighttime: Warm clothing (long pants, T-shirt, jacket)
  • Summit Time: Super warm clothes (long pants, T-shirt, sweater, windbreaker jacket, gloves, warm hat)

Deluxe service, Our Deluxe Service gives travelers more convenient facilities such as softer and thicker mattresses for sleeping, covered toilet shelters, and high-quality food
Standard service, Standard Service uses communal trekking equipment and is ideal for trekkers used to a rustic and basic trekking experience

Trek Itinerary:

Day 1: Sembalun to Crater Rim Sembalun (2,639m)

  • Distance: 10 km

  • Duration: 6-7 hours

  • Difficulty: Moderate

  • Highest Point: 2,639m (Crater Rim Sembalun)

  • Elevation Gain: +1,539m

  • 6:00 AM: Breakfast at your base camp in Senaru.

  • 7:00 AM: Depart for Sembalun Village (45-60 min drive).

  • 8:00 AM: Register at the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) at 1,051m.

  • 8:30 AM: Begin trekking to POS 1 (1,300m). A 2-hour walk with a 10-minute rest.

  • 10:30 AM: Continue to POS 2 (1,500m) — 1-hour walk, take a 10-minute rest.

  • 12:00 PM: Trek to POS 3 (1,800m), 1-hour walk. Lunch at POS 3 with a 2-hour break.

  • 2:30 PM: Continue trekking up for 3 hours to Crater Rim Sembalun (2,639m).

  • 5:30 PM: Enjoy the sunset over the crater rim and relax overnight at the campsite.

Day 2: Crater Rim Sembalun to Summit (3,726m) and Segara Anak Lake

  • Distance: 18.9 km

  • Duration: 12-14 hours

  • Difficulty: Very Difficult

  • Highest Point: 3,726m (Summit Rinjani)

  • Elevation Gain: +1,087m

  • 2:30 AM: Wake up for a light breakfast.

  • 3:00 AM: Begin the 3-hour ascent to the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726m).

    • 6:30 AM: Reach the summit and witness a stunning sunrise over Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa. Take time to enjoy panoramic views of Segara Anak Lake.
  • 7:30 AM: Return to the Crater Rim Sembalun for breakfast.

  • 8:30 AM: Begin your descent to Segara Anak Lake (2,000m) and the hot springs — 3-hour walk.

  • 11:30 AM: Arrive at the lake and enjoy a relaxing lunch by the water. Hot spring water is just a 100m walk from the lake for a well-deserved soak.

  • 1:00 PM: After a rest, climb up to the Crater Rim of Senaru (2,641m) — 3-hour hike.

  • 4:00 PM: Camp at the Crater Rim Senaru. Enjoy the view of Bali’s Mount Agung and relax during the spectacular sunset.

  • 7:00 PM: Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 3: Crater Rim Senaru to Senaru Village

  • Distance: 9.2 km

  • Duration: 5-6 hours

  • Difficulty: Moderate

  • Highest Point: 2,641m (Senaru Crater Rim)

  • Elevation Loss: -2,040m

  • 6:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast and a beautiful sunrise at Crater Rim Senaru.

  • 8:00 AM: Start your descent towards Senaru Village.

  • 10:30 AM: Stop for a lunch break along the way between POS 2 or POS Extra.

  • 1:00 PM: Arrive at the Senaru Rinjani Trekking Center.

  • 1:30 PM: Transfer to your next destination: Senggigi, Mataram, or Bangsal Harbor (for the Gili Islands).
