Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is the best time of the year to climb Mt Rinjani, and when does the park close?
A: The best season for climbing is April through December. Mt Rinjani National Park closes from 15th of January to March due to heavy rains during the monsoon season. In fact, almost all year round it is possible to trek due to the tropical climate that Lombok has, unless the volcano on Mt Rinjani has been unusually active. The National Park authority will send us notifications about the current activity level of the volcano, so we will keep you apprised of any changes in volcanic activity as needed.
Q: What is the difference between the Deluxe and Standard Services?
A: Our Deluxe Service gives travelers more convenient facilities such as softer and thicker mattresses for sleeping, covered toilet shelters, and high-quality food. In contrast, Standard Service uses communal trekking equipment and is ideal for trekkers used to a rustic and basic trekking experience.
Q: Do the porters carry our luggage or backpack?
A: No, they don’t. The porters provided are responsible for carrying all logistical equipment for the trek program only. If you wish, you are more than welcome to pay extra for an extra porter to carry your luggage. The cost of having an extra porter to carry your luggage is USD $22 per day.
Q: What time is pick-up if I stay in the Senggigi or Mataram areas?
A: Pick up point at the hotel lobby will be at 05:00AM, anywhere in Senggigi or Mataram. For those who stay in Gili Islands, the pick-up point would be at Gili Island Jetty at 05:00AM
Q: Where can I leave my extra luggage during the trek program?
A: You can leave them in our office or in our base in Senaru. We will deliver all of your luggage back to you promptly after the trek ends.
Q: I am coming from Singapore by Silk Air, arrival time is late. Which program should I take, as I
need 1 night accommodation before I started the trek?
A: Arrive at Lombok International Airport. We will pick you up and transfer to our hotel in Senaru Village. Hotels with the Deluxe Service include Pondok Senaru Cottage, Sinar Rinjani Cottage, Rinjani Light House, Agro Villa Sembalun, Lembah Rinjani Villa Sembalun. The hotel included on Standard Service will be Pondok Indah Senaru.
Q: How many groups can you organize per day?
A: We can handle a maximum of 5 groups per day.
Q: How many guides and porters are there for each program?
A: It depends on the trekking programme, but we will adjust according to your needs!
THIS IS FOR DELUXE SERVICE ONLY [based on two person groups]:
– 2 days 1 night trek: We will provide 2 porters, and 1 trekking guide.
– 3 days 2 night trek: We will provide 3 porters, and 1 trekking guide.
– 4 days 3 night trek: We will provide 3 porters, and 1 trekking guide.

Q: Are we travelling in a big group or individual group?
A: Upon request, you can travel in a separate group on the same date. If you’re traveling with your family, or just among friends or colleagues, we can adjust our program to meet your needs.
