Day 0 – Arrival & Pre-Trek Preparation (Senaru Village)
Your Rinjani adventure begins with a free pick-up service from anywhere in Lombok — including Lombok International Airport, Senggigi, Kuta, Tetebatu, Mataram, Bangsal, or Kayangan Port.
The scenic drive to Senaru Village (601 m) takes approximately 2.5 to 4 hours, passing through rice terraces, tropical hills, and traditional Sasak villages along the way.
We highly recommend a morning pick-up (around 9:00–10:00 AM) to arrive in Senaru by 2:00–3:00 PM.
Arriving earlier gives you more time to rest, enjoy the mountain atmosphere, and explore the surroundings before your trek begins.
- In the afternoon, you can visit Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls — two of Lombok’s most famous natural attractions.
Both waterfalls are located just a 15-minute walk from your guesthouse to the entrance gate of the waterfall trail, making it an easy and refreshing short excursion before dinner. - Upon arrival at Green Rinjani Guest House, check into your private room with hot shower and mountain view.
Dinner will be served at Green Rinjani Restaurant, followed by an evening trek briefing with your guide to discuss the route, safety instructions, and equipment preparation for the next day’s climb.

Congratulations! You’ve reached your first campsite.
From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama: Segara Anak Lake below, the volcanic cone of Mount Baru Jari, and Bali’s Mount Agung rising in the distance.

Day 1 Summary:
- Distance: 8,5 km
- Duration: 6–7 hours
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Elevation Gain: +2,040 m
Day 2 – Senaru Crater Rim → Segara Anak Lake (2,000 m) → Propok Camp (2,300 m)
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the mountain
- 06:00 AM – Enjoy the sunrise over the crater and Mount Agung in Bali while having breakfast.
After packing, your guide will brief you for the descent to Segara Anak Lake. - 07:00 AM – Start descending to Segara Anak Lake (2,000 m)
The descent takes about 2.5–3 hours through steep, rocky, and narrow trails.
This section requires extra care — it’s one of the more technical parts of Rinjani with loose volcanic rocks, narrow ledges, and short cliffside turns. - Safety Note:
Walk slowly and follow your guide closely.
Never walk too far ahead or behind your team — this section is steep and slippery, especially after the summit day for those trekking from Sembalun.
Many trekking incidents occur here, so focus, balance, and teamwork are essential.
09:30 AM – Arrive at Segara Anak Lake (2,000 m)
- Your porters will prepare lunch by the lake while you relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.
You can take photos of Mount Baru Jari — the small active volcano in the middle of the lake. - After lunch – Visit the Hot Springs
Just a short 5-minute walk from the lakeshore lies Rinjani’s natural hot springs, a favorite among trekkers.
There are several pools with different temperatures; you can soak for 10–20 minutes, depending on which pool you choose.
The warm mineral water helps relieve muscle tension and fatigue — the perfect recovery after long trekking hours. - 12:30 PM – Continue hiking toward Propok Camp (2,300 m)
The first part of the trail passes Goa Susu (Milk Cave) — a small limestone cave with milky white deposits, considered sacred by local people.
You’ll take a short stop here for photos and a brief explanation from your guide. - The trail then continues upward along steep and rocky terrain, with some iron ladders and narrow ridges installed for safety.
The climb is physically demanding but very rewarding — you’ll see wide open views of the lake behind you as you gain elevation. - 05:00 PM – Arrive at Propok Camp (2,300 m)
Welcome to your second campsite — a peaceful and scenic location surrounded by hills and open sky.
Enjoy sunset tea or coffee while your porters prepare a warm dinner.
The night is usually calm, with temperatures around 10–12°C.
Rest early for the next day’s descent through the spectacular Torean Valley.
Day 2 Summary:

- Duration: 6–7 hours
- Elevation loss/gain: –641 m to +300 m
- Difficulty: Moderate–Challenging
Day 3 – Propok Camp (2,300 m) → Torean Valley → Torean Village (601 m) transfer next destination
Breakfast and lunch on the mountain
Wake up early to soft light filtering over the valley.
Enjoy a relaxed morning with breakfast and coffee while admiring the view of the lush canyon below.
07:00 AM – Begin the descent to Torean VillageToday’s trail is long but mostly
- downhill, following one of Rinjani’s most beautiful natural corridors — the Torean Valley.
It’s a 6–7 hour journey, covering about 10 km through forested slopes, river paths, and canyon walls. - The descent starts from Propok with a gradual downhill path, then transitions into narrow trails carved into the side of the valley.
This area includes several exposed sections known as “jalan kurus” (the narrow path), where trekkers must walk carefully in single file.
Your guide will set the pace and assist in technical spots to ensure everyone’s safety. - As you descend deeper, the scenery becomes greener and more humid.
You’ll pass through small waterfalls, natural rock tunnels, and bamboo forest, with the sound of the river echoing below.
The view of Penimbungan Waterfall across the canyon is truly breathtaking — one of Rinjani’s signature sights.
11:30 AM – Rest and lunch by the riverside
- Enjoy your final mountain meal surrounded by the sound of flowing water and birdsong.
Your porters will serve a hot lunch — typically fried rice or noodles with vegetables and fresh fruit. - 12:30–01:30 PM – Final descent to Torean Village (601 m)
The last section follows the river and passes small bridges and farmlands until you reach the trailhead at Torean Village.
Congratulations — you’ve completed the Rinjani Jungle Trek 3 Days / 2 Nights (Senaru to Torean)!
Your Green Rinjani driver will be waiting to take you to Senaru, Senggigi, Kuta Lombok, or your next destination.

This trek is classified as moderate to challenging, suitable for trekkers with good physical fitness and some hiking experience.

- Mount Rinjani Trekking Quota: Why Early Booking is Essential
Mount Rinjani is one of the most iconic trekking destinations in the world. To protect the mountain’s natural beauty and ensure a safe experience, the National Park limits the number of climbers each day. This system is called the trekking quota, and it’s divided into two categories: - For international travelers, there are 240 quota slots each day. These slots are managed by trekking organizers like GREEN RINJANI to ensure proper permits, guides, and safety arrangements. Because demand is high — especially during peak season (July–September) — these slots fill up fast.
- Booking early (1–2 months in advance) guarantees your spot, saves last-minute stress, and allows you to secure your preferred trekking date and route.
- Local / Public Quota — 160 slots per day
For Indonesian citizens or domestic trekkers, 160 slots are available daily. These are reserved for climbers registering independently at the Rinjani Trekking Centre in Senaru or Sembalun. Local quotas tend to fill quickly during busy periods, so early planning is still highly recommended.
Why This Matters for You Without a secured quota slot, trekking Mount Rinjani is not allowed. This is why early booking is essential — especially for foreign visitors who depend on agency-arranged quotas.
